The children compete against one another in a race through town with their

homemade go-carts, being cheered on to the finish line to win the championship

cup, and have their name and picture with on the cover of the Thomas Place Times.

This is the first time Tommy and Chester will drive in the race, and there are many

preparations to qualify. Every contender has to raise their own admissions fee. The

adults and parents are supportive of creative job ideas.

At the end of the race, there is a big lunch served in the town square where the

winners are celebrated and everyone is rewarded for their hard work.
