The Adventures of Tobias the Turtle is the story of a turtle swept away from his home in the woods on the babbling brook during a rainstorm. His goal is to get back home to the Babbling Brook. Two young girls and their dog, Flapjack, find him on their lawn, but when he wanders away from the safety of their home, Tobias's life becomes a series of misadventures that has him caught up in a turtle race, nearly becoming turtle soup, and trying to avoid crowds at a country fair. The story comes full circle, and through human kindness, Tobias returns to his home near the babbling brook.
