The Adventures of the Black Phenomenon is a collection of poems written by DeJuan Cuffee and Sharon Evans that tell a coming-of-age superhero story about two cousins in high school, Daewon, a junior, and Zenobia, a freshman, discovering the freedom that comes with being a teenager, while also dealing with innate super powers. Each teenager must grapple with very grown-up life and death situations with major repercussions.

DeJuan (Sultan) and Sharon (Poetic CEO) use words that create worlds. In this saga, they use their unique poetic skills and imagination to paint a picture perfect action-packed poetic story. Their poetic expression puts medicine in a candy wrapper, as the rhymes and stories are entertaining, educational, insightful, and inspirational. Jason Langford once again provides magnificent illustrations throughout the book.
