A nose for trouble. A heart for family.
Sharp Nose has a gift. She can smell a crumb of cheese from half a mile away, sniff out danger before anyone else knows it's coming, and track down food when her family needs it most. But her incredible nose comes with an even bigger sense of curiosity - and that curiosity has a habit of landing her family in trouble.
When a quick detour into a woodsman's pantry forces the mouse family to flee the only home they've ever known, Sharp Nose, her parents, and soon her baby brother Pinky Whiskers set out on a journey down the river in search of a fresh start. A mining camp full of food scraps and hiding spots seems like the perfect place to settle down. But life for a small mouse is never that simple.
As the family moves from one home to the next, they face dangers at every turn - poisoned food left by suspicious miners, a terrifying barn cat prowling the corridors of a cheese factory, owls hunting in the moonlight, and a snake that nearly ends their journey for good. Each time they think they've found safety, something forces them back out into the unknown.
Through it all, Sharp Nose and Pinky Whiskers learn to look out for each other. She's the cautious older sister with the sharpest nose in the mouse world. He's the fearless little brother with bright pink paws and a heart twice his size. Together, they get into scrapes that would make their parents' whiskers turn white - and find the courage to keep going when giving up would be so much easier.
Inspired by stories first told by William Laursen and brought to life by his great-grandson Brian Young, The Adventures of Pinky Whiskers and Sharp Nose is a timeless tale of family, courage, and the belief that somewhere out there is a place where you truly belong. You just have to be brave enough to find it.
