Autobiography: Janene Oliphant was raised on a farm in rural Iowa, with three sisters and two brothers. She attended Alburnett School from kindergarten through her senior year, along with people who are still her close friends. After graduation, Janene worked as a secretary and married her high school sweetheart, Lon. A son, a daughter, and three grandchildren have completed her life. She has been interested in writing from the age of seven, when she wrote a series of stories about a helpful bumblebee, Susie the Do-Bee. Her hobbies are mowing for hours, reading, lunching with The Golden Girls Gang, and writing, writing, writing.
