Meridian opens her eyes to find she is all alone, high on a cliff above the sea. Knowing she must find out where the wind has taken her, she carefully slides down a rocky slope nearby. The sea in the distance is the most beautiful deep blue she had ever seen. The trees around her are ripe with olives and lemons. Thinking she might be somewhere on the southwest coast of America, she knows she is all wrong when she suddenly hears a voice in a foreign language. When the path veers left, before her is a boy in scruffy clothes and bare feet who, as it turns out, is the seventh great-grandson of a famous artist. What luck! Meridian's new friend has the heart of an explorer, and what an adventure he takes her on. Along the beautiful sea they swim, they dive, they toss, and they turn. In the end, they attend a street party celebration for an entire city.
