The Acceptable Year of the Lord

After His Baptism, Our Lord Jesus Christ entered the synagogue in Nazareth and read these words from the scroll of the Prophet Isaiah:

"The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent me to heal the broken-hearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed, To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord."

Then He said, "Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing."

This small volume contains four collections celebrating that acceptable year of the Lord: Poems for the Great Feasts; Twelve Poems of Christmas; Selected Poems; and The Lord's Gospel Commands. In our challenging times, may it bless those who read it as it has blessed me to write it, and may your year be blessed.
