The Absence Protocol: They didn't kill her. They deleted her. A Maya Kavanaugh Novel

By Tessa J Holbrook

THE DATA DOES NOT LIE. BUT IT CAN DELETE YOU.

Senior Actuarial Risk Specialist Maya Kavanaugh thought the nightmare ended after unraveling the October 24th murders. But while building a routine anomaly-detection model on international policy portfolios, she flags a statistical impossibility: a 412% mortality spike in accidental death claims across non-extradition jurisdictions-where every single body is certified as unrecovered.

When Maya spots one of the supposedly drowned policyholders walking through a Miami coffee shop under a new alias, she uncovers a chilling reality. Apex Excursions, a covert syndicate, is selling bespoke second lives and artificial deaths to high-net-worth fugitives.

Querying the registry fires a silent tripwire. Overnight, the syndicate activates a ruthless erasure protocol:

Financial Layer: Bank accounts and credit lines frozen across global institutions.

Institutional Layer: Professional licenses, employment history, and public records wiped clean.

Physical Layer: Smart-home access revoked and identity credentials permanently bricked.

Stripped of her digital existence, Maya is forced off the grid. Armed with only paper maps, analog archives, and the help of forensic consultant Marcus Vance, she must outrun an all-seeing network to expose the syndicate's next staged disaster-before the algorithm erases her permanently.

The Absence Protocol is a fast-paced, high-concept techno-thriller perfect for fans of near-future conspiracies, digital surveillance plots, and relentless survival against the machine
