The stories in this book tell of the hardest cattle to gather and the ways used to do it. In almost every instance, with poor management, a certain percentage of cattle will revert to the wild. They love their freedom and will, in many cases, fight to the death to keep it.

This work is not for the weak-hearted. A lot of good cowboys aren't up to the task.

Many times owners or cowboys are frustrated in their attempts to gather these renegades. So they resort to shooting them. These cattle usually live in the wildest most hardest to reach areas.

There a couple of essays in this book dealing with a good horse or a man dealing with bad weather. I hope you all enjoy these stories.
