Excellent Series Continuation

Pitch perfect series continuation. Couldn't ask for more in a 4400 novel. Picks up where from where the show ends. Would love to see Greg Cox write more of these books! Thanks from a fan.

As good as the show

Being a huge fan of the 4400, I was disappointed when the show got cancelled. But this book is very good (really lives up to the expectations) and it's on the Kindle! Hurray! There is a second book that I still have to read but this one is good so I hope they will keep writing for the fans!

Continuing the TV Series

The 4400: Welcome to Promise City picks up the storyline where the TV series ended. After the promiacin outbreak, thousands died in Seattle, and the surviving thousands were left with new abilities. And Jordan Collier stepped up as leader of the city. A group of mysterious undercover operatives have made it their mission to bring down Collier and stop the spread of promiacin. Meanwhile, Tom Baldwin and Diana Skouris try to track down who stole the body of Tom's nephew, the catalyst of the recent outbreak of promiacin. NTAC is worried that someone may be using the diseased boy's body to further spread promiacin to the unsuspecting world. As a big fan of the TV show, I was ecstatic to hear that the novels would be continuing the story. And this latest book was a wonderful addition. All of the characters are fighting the same struggles: Tom debating on whether or not to take the shot, Kyle's hallucinatory ability and struggling between loyalty to Jordan and his father, and Richard dealing with vengeance over the death of his daughter. With ample suspense, action, and intrigue, fans of The 4400 will not be disappointed. A complex storyline involves all of the main characters, and offers some shocking surprises along the way. The characters have all the depth and conflicts that we've come to know. The danger of Collier's followers and the opposing faction is coming to a head. And I loved every minute of it.

A wonderful extension of the series

I was a huge fan of the The 4400, and after an amazing 4th Season I couldn't believe it was canceled. The final season's cliffhanger left me desperately hoping that the show would make a return somehow. Not long ago I introduced my girlfriend to the show on DVD, and while looking at its Wikipedia page I noticed that 2 books were coming out to finish off the story. This first book picks up right where the show ended, and for fans of the show it's easy to see the scenes playing out in your head. I don't know if the author received guidance from the creators as to where to take the story, but it feels very natural and satisfying. The book is well written and it's a thrill to be able to continue the saga. The book does advance the plot a good amount, but with only one book left it seems there will be a whole lot of ground to cover before reaching a satisfying ending. After reading "Welcome to Promise City," however, I'm confident The 4400 will finally get the finale it deserves.

Promise City

This book is the perfect continuation of the show. It blends perfectly with the last season with a plausible story line. All the characters stay true to the show and almost all of them are included. Promises Broken felt like watching the show again. It made me miss the series even more! Fantastic book!
