There are many electric start-ups, but none has seen as much controversy, unrest, and dubious business tactics as Faraday Future. The California-based firm has struggled since its founding in 2014, and the FF91 all-electric crossover it released as its first (kind of) actual product is unfit for use in everyday driving. Despite the company's assertion that reservation holders may receive their vehicles by the end of this year, we took a remarkably brief test drive in a "near-production" car in Pebble Beach during Monterey Car Week in the middle of August. As a result, the FF91 is clearly still a work in progress due to a number of broken features and odd design decisions.
