Are relationships that last a thing of the past? Between working like crazy, picking up the kids, watching the news, and surfing the Net, partners are challenged to find time for love. These short,... This description may be from another edition of this product.
At first I was amazed at how small this book was. But after reading the intro I knew this was written by someone who understands the hardships of relationships. Realistic, non-gimmicky, yet very clever, honest, and very easy reading. I think for any long-term relationship, from the newlywed to the golden years, this book has sound advice.
Smart and yet Simple

How nice to read about maintaining a successful relationship without having to read a lengthy book full of analysis. You get it all here, but simply and by cutting to the quick: 'Don't let little things become big things.' 'Don't overlook little things.' How true, how simple, how often forgotten. A great little gift for newly engaged or with your favorite reference books! The humor mixed with the seriousness helps me when my spouse and I read it together. We love it, and it reminds us how a little effort goes a long way.
Very Helpful!

Although I have been married almost l4 years, the information in this book is enlightening. No gimmicks, yet clever; not long, but covers a lot; not new information, but often important forgotten pointers. My husband and I enjoy going through it together (long in-depth books are hard to do together)by circling some of the ones we could brush up on. We have found it to be a great, little engagement gift or anniversary remembrance. I'm even thinking about it for some family stocking stuffers!
I find it's now easier to resolve relationship problems.

I used to have a hard time maintaining a good relationship with my spouse and in-laws. Now I've learned how to communicate more effectively and the relationships I have with everyone are better. If you like this book, try "The First Element: Secrets to Maximizing Your Energy", which also is an excellent book on how to improve your energy and relationships with everyone you know.
Right On!!!

I usually don't read intros, boy am I glad I did with this book! The author very definitely let's you know that he understands what makes a relationship last and stay fresh. From making a deep point, "If you don't want to talk about it, it's the first thing you should talk about," to lighter, but equally important points, "Date your partner even if you're 90," covers many aspects. I have happily been married l6 years, but I don't take the relationship for granted. A refresher, like this book, helps me to know that I'm still on track, and validates the things that we do that seem to be the glue. We gave this book (along with the author's other book, l00 Best Ways to Meet People) to some single friends, and said to read Stay Together first, then when you meet someone...you'll know what to do!!! The suggestions are so easy, yet so often forgotten or overlooked. Oh, the humor in the book is just great too. Don't forget to read the afterword...it's right on!
