It isn't as perfect as she imagined, however. Her worries about her brother don't go away. She can't help crying whenever she thinks about her sister. She refuses to let anyone at her new school get close to her, afraid that they'll ask questions about her family. To make everything worse, she has to share her racquetball court with cocky, loudmouthed, showoffy Jerr-the most annoying boy she's ever met.
Lynn is determined to push any thoughts of her situation aside, and focus all her energy into practicing for the upcoming tournament. As she and Jerr play their daily racquetball matches, however, she starts to realize that there's more to him than what meets the eye... and that he might be more similar to her than she thought.
