That in All Things God May be Glorified!

Taken from the Rule of Saint Benedict, the motto "That in all things God may be glorified!" was meant to help keep monks and sisters engaged in worldly affairs (like selling the goods of the monastery in the marketplace) focused on their vows to seek the life of Heaven above all else. The purpose of Catholic Education is not only to sharpen the intellect, making pupils capable and eager in their ascent to Truth, but also to stir the heart to a zeal for the blessed life of Heaven itself: in short, to help form Saints. When Benedictine Sisters taught in rural Minnesota Parochial Schools, they taught their pupils this phrase and recited it at the end of their prayers. The motto remains in use to this day at a small Catholic School in rural Minnesota, though several decades have passed since sisters taught there and no one could remember WHY the motto was recited or WHERE it came from. It is a beautiful glimpse of the rich Catholic heritage and history which continued to linger long after much had been forgotten. This book is intended to preserve that memory and rekindle the appreciation for the richness endowed by God through the hands of generations of teachers, beginning with the Sisters of Saint Benedict. That in all things God may be glorified!
