In an effort to further his education, Joseph Golshani came to America over thirty years ago with the intent of returning to Iran, but he soon realized the tremendous opportunities that were offered him in this country. He remained in America and made a name for himself. In Thanks To America, Joseph chronicles his journey, while giving thanks to the country that provided opportunities he never dreamed possible. Along the way, Joseph shares his trials and triumphs, and his affirmative outlook with a straight-forward philosophy, and he does so with humor, humility, and grace. "It has truly been exciting to watch Joseph over the years in his personal and professional journey. His trust in people through his leadership and mentoring exemplifies and complements every part of Joseph's life and adds meaning to everything he chooses to achieve." Lin R. Rogers Chairman, Rogers Electric & Holt Investments "I am honored to have known Joseph for almost 25 years, and to be considered a part of his journey to success; I know that my late husband, Edwin Neill II, would be so proud to see what Joseph has achieved throughout his life and to know that his words are remembered by him. Joseph is a true example of someone whose success has been achieved through his belief in the positive, surrounding himself with people that contribute to who he wants to become, and his dedication to supporting others. I wish Joseph the very best and am excited to see what he will achieve next." Debra Neill Baker CEO, Neill Corporation "It has been an honor to know an Iranian-American that has brought great dedication and passion to not only the beauty industry, but this country as well. Joseph has had a successful career in simply following his dreams and his heart. Knowing Joseph and watching his success has been a pleasure and privilege and I look forward to seeing all the blessings he has ahead of him." Arsalan Hafezi CEO & President, Modern Salon and Spa
This is a very nice, inspirational positive view of all the wonderful things in the USA that make it a land of opportunity. The author mixes many elements of his own personal successful immigrant story, the lessons he has learned in building a successful business, and advice for others, in an easy-to-read style. His own "personal voice" comes through and that is refreshing. Oh ... and the cover art is fantastic. It it was available in a poster I'd love to buy it.
Coming to America, Against all Odds by Joseph Golshani

I have read Joseph's book and have done business with him, but I had no idea of his journey. I was so touched by the sincerety, caring, excitement about life and lessons imparted in his book. I think that he is correct, we should all write a book imparting our experiences and lessons, I truly believe that this makes the world a lot smaller and creates connections and understanding in a deep way between all cultures and people. It was not a big book, but it is an important book. It only took me 45 minutes to read it. Thank you Joseph for sharing such an important message.

Underlying themes Believe in yourself Grasp every opp Trust honesty integrity Forgiveness Don't let fear paralyze you seize the day Fairness as an employer promotes loyalty Culitvate and inspire employees to become the best they can be Liked the SWOT reference shows forward thinking Best part of book: Great perspective on views between Muslims and other religions. After reading you changed my perception of a muslim man. While you and I may not agree on certain religious beliefs I respect that you have faith in a higher god and that you try to live by that credo. Yoy showed there are more similarities between us than differences. We both came from humble beginnings. We both struggled with finding our way. Many failures before successes. We both needed someone to believe in us to flourish and feel the need to give back. Family is very important and we both make the best decisions possible with them in mind. Freedom is sweet and to be treasured never taken for granted. I like your kind eyes. When I look in them I see glimpses of your soul. There's so much more to you than what meets the eye. You showed the gentleness of a persian man than what is portrayed in the media everyday. You make me want to know you more. You make me want to understand your culture more. I think we are all a lot more alike than we are different. The more you open up and let others know you the greater your influence will be in bridging our differences. I feel like I've meet someone very special who will have great influence on others in the coming time.

Thanks to America - Against All Odds addresses a host of insights and how to's from the author. A very easy read that speaks tenderly of his innate love for his homeland of Iran and love for his chosen home in the USA where he has lived longer than his birth home. Joseph manages to accomplish communicating several objectives in writing this small book. He inspires immigrants and Americans who wish to become entrepreneurs that if he can do it you can do it. He encourages contributing to the wealth of this country vs. taking from it. Faith, Family, Friends are his theme throughout his book. And without hostiity, he gingerly addresses the changing of the tides for Iran-Americans here after the 1979 hostage takeover. His faith, love of family, and sincere appreciation of those that contributed to his growth is noteworthy. It's a story of an average guy with a keen inner awareness to trust and believe in what America promises [the pursuit of happiness]. If we had more individuals like Joseph in the world, in the words of Louis "Satchmo" Armstrong, "what a wonderful world it would be". A lovely book for any age, race, creed or religion.
