Tessellating Animal Activity Book combines tessellations with a traditional child's activity book. Matching and identification problems provide a way to present some basic concepts of tessellations, but otherwise tessellations are used to decorate common puzzle types of activity books such as mazes, word searches, decoder puzzles, letter scrambles, and mini-Sudoku puzzles. There are also some pages without puzzles that have pictures to color. The coloring pages and mazes decorate short tales, mostly from Aesop. The book has 92 pages of puzzles and activities and uses more than 150 Escher-type tessellations of birds, insects, fish, and other animals. Answers to all puzzles are given at the end of the book. Although a few parts of the book may entertain very young children, most of it is aimed at children in upper grade school and higher (and anyone who enjoys tessellations). Solutions are provided to the puzzles.
