Living History

With the controversy over Iraqi sponsorship of 9/11, it is worth reviewing the historical example of the Soviet Union to gain insight into state sponsorship of terror. Now that the Cold War is over, we forget how controversial was the claim in the 1980s that the Soviet Union provided significant assistance to terror groups. On many occasions, I read passages that could have applied to today's arguments over state sponsorship. Cline was one of many people who predicted an eventual "spectacular" attack against America. Many years passed before the prediction became real on 9/11.
