While i'm not sure i would have picked this book off the shelf, i found myself sucked into the lives of Nacer and Karim as they inadvertently become more and more involved in a web of deceit, destruction and the true anguish associated with terrorist ideologies. The plot is engaging and the rich character developement gives you surprising perspective on how one could actually find themselves involved within a corrupt political sub-culture so completely opposed to beliefs in freedom and justice. While the ideas are intense, the book moves along nicely and doesn't dwell too long or too deep on any specific issue which makes for good, suspenseful and entertaining reading. Enjoy!
A deftly written, highly recommended novel

Not everyone wishes to taste the cocktail that the concepts of greed, manipulation, and lust for power create - Nacer and Karim sure don't. "Terror in Disguise" is the tale of the two as the dark world of terror attempts to drag them into it, with its fundamentalism, zealots, and pressure. A fictional yet all too real account, "Terror in Disguise" is an insight into the ideology and forces that keep pushing people into the act. "Terror in Disguise" is a deftly written, highly recommended novel for community library fiction shelves with a focus on modern issues.

Genre: Fiction Title: Terror In Disguise Author: Cherif Sidiali Terror, horror, shock, dread, fear and panic-words that we see too often in today's news! With the acceptance of a single envelope, Karim's world, as he knows it, is changed forever. Running into Nacer, an old best friend, ends up being the worst day of his life in Algeria. Wishing he had heeded his initial assessment that something was terribly wrong, Karim is quickly immersed into the world of terrorism. With a sense of doom, he realizes there is no way out. Caught up as a pawn between the CIA and Terrorists costs him more than his morale and freedom. Taken to hidden camps and underground facilities, he is taught intimidation, robbery and murder. Eventually he pays the ultimate price, with the loss of a loved one. Years after it all begins he is forced to accept the truth; it will never end. The story in this page-turner is so well written that you have to remind yourself it is a work of fiction. In reality it depicts the horrors that many people suffer as a result of what is now an atrocious global issue. The author, Cherif Sidiali is a North African native, who has personally witnessed social and political changes during the 1990's as a result of terrorism and reprehensible violence. Children orphaned and thousands of innocents died in Algeria during the invasion. This would lead me to believe that he is extremely motivated on educating the world about the devastating effects of today's global conflicts. It is a good read and highly recommended by reviewer: Cheryl Ellis, Allbooks Review
Terror in disguise is captivating

The story centers around Karim who sees himself drawn into a labyrinth in which, international security forces are committed to exterminating terrorists, and where his conscience forces him to do the right thing and be part of the effort. The author does a good job outlining some very good reasons on how some people end up innocently on the bad front and don't even notice it till it is too late, in an exotic fictional tour that takes the reader throughout various regions of the world such as Algeria, Afghanistan and Europe.
A Great Book

This is a fictional story that takes you over many countries such as Algeria, Pakistan, Afghanistan, United States, Spain, etc. The author does a good job of telling the story without prejudice in terms of religion or race . The premise of the story talks about the sequence of events in the day of a regular guy that cause his life to change in such a way that he becomes involved in the dark world of terrorism. The story makes you pose certain questions as to who/what could be behind these heinous acts. The book is well written and holds your interest throughout the story. It is a page turner and well worth the read. I look forward to seeing more books from this author as I can see a sequel to this story.
