Kept me up at night--in a page turning way

What a horrific story--and true. I remember reading about this crime soon after it happened, wondering what exactly went wrong. Pence and Caffey do a phenomenal job of painstakingly recounting the details of the case, unpacking the emotional story in a thriller-like manner. It's not often that I can't put down a book, but this one kept beckoning me to turn the page well into the night.

Terror By Night

This was an excellant book. I don't know how he survived not only the physically injuries but the emotional ones. It was so refreshing that he shared his faith and how that faith pulled him through.

Could Not Put It Down

This book reads with the pace and tension of a novel. You know the end but you keep turning the pages. Terry Caffey's struggles, his search for answers, his journey away from and back to God are told with honesty, nothing held back. When he returns to God, you know it is genuine because you know what he went through to get there. Terry's story of overcoming a horrible tragedy is inspirational. You walk with him from the depths of his depression and suicidal thoughts to his triumphant reconciliation with God and his finding peace that only God can provide. His journey to forgiving his daughter and loving her unconditionally is heart wrenching. I highly recommend this book to everyone.

Captivated by the story!

You will value the Terror by Night CD because I got lost in the emotions that surface in the telling of Terry Caffey's amazing journey. Terry's story, James's words, and Maurice's performance...harmonize, like cords in music, and I was captivated! Terror by Night is a great main stream read...that gives insights into applying God's Truths to real life challenges.

A Page Turner

I got home from a long trip on Saturday evening and was exhausted. I opened my mail and saw that I'd received my copy of Terror by Night, but I set it aside thinking I would fall asleep right then if I started reading. Later that night, closer to bed time, I picked up the book to wind down and before I knew it it was 1am and I was still awake and half way through the book. The next night I did the same thing and finished it after midnight. I knew a lot of Terry's story from the media and through an opportunity I had to meet him in person, so I didn't think it would be a page turner for me, but it really pulled me in. I had my tissues close, but I was surprised and relieved that the tears came more in the tender moments than in the terror-filled ones. Terry really let himself be vulnerable in sharing his journey to overcoming a real life nightmare. You'll just want to hug him when he "loses his marble" and really nearly loses his marbles. I could hear the story about the burnt page that Terry found 100 times and never cease to be amazed by God's presence in his life and the joy in knowing that He has placed "pages" in my life, too. Terry doesn't hide the fact that he wanted to turn from God, he stopped praying, and he struggled to praise a God that let's things like this happen. When we think He's not here or that our problems don't matter, or we've lost hope all together, He's there, turning over every page to get to our heart.
