Terms of Attraction by Kylie Brant (2009 Silhouette Books) A commando engaged in the private business of protecting the President of a country from his political enemies, Cael, meets a sharpshooting local policewoman who saves the day with her meticulous shots, Ava. The President must return to his country. Cael needs more talent to provide the necessary protection. Cael is consumed with hate for the Homeland Security official who convinces Ava to accept Cael's offer to join his team, hoping that she would provide information to bring the former commando down. There is a secret concealed within Cael's hatred. Ava must leave her teen age son to perform the assignment. She has a secret in her past, which is discovered and is sought to be used against her. There is duplicity in the President's palace. Cael is determined to rescue the kidnapped President from his imprisonment in the jungle. Ava will not be deterred from engagement in the action. Greatly outnumbered in the jungle, Ava and Cael battle their own internal demons and the real ones trying to bring them down. Will they find strength in each other? Will they find more? Can they overcome their secrets? Kylie Brant spins a wonderful story. I read until I found the answers to these questions, captivated by a clever story told with skill and charm. A mystery, thriller, and romance story all rolled into one. Terms of Attraction is well conceived, effectively presented, and compellingly completed. It is a truly excellent book. Its pace flows like the waters that consume the protagonists. A great read, for sure!

Ava Carter is an body guard. She is at the top of her field and good at her job. Cael McCabe hires her to be an body guard on a mission to South America. Seems pretty straight forward. Ava knows that Cael has a reputation with the ladies but knows she is professional enough not to let this interfere with her skills or so she thinks. Once in South America the closeness combined with the mystery of the mission bring them closer and closer to the truth of why Cael has chosen this assignment and the passion that burns when the two are in the room together. Can Ava save Cael from his own lust for revenge? Will her love be enough to save this tortured ex navy seal from himself? Kylie Brant brings mystery and passion to a new level in Terms of Attraction. I love the pure romance of the Sillouette Romantic Suspense line. The chemistry between Ava and Cael can almost be felt though the pages. Ava is a strong lady. She has had to be to be a woman in a man's world as she would say. She knows she is good at her job and is not above proving it if she has to. Cael is an ex navy seal and completely a bad boy at heart. A tortured soul you just want to save, I can see why Ava falls for him. Now can she save him from himself? And will he let her, is the bigger question. When you want suspense and romance combined you want to read Terms of Attraction you will not be disappointed and be coming back for more of Kylie Brant in the future!
