Bounty lands were grants of lands provided by the US Government to veterans who served in various military conflicts, including the Revolutionary War, War of 1812 and the Mexican War. The Revolutionary War was the only war in which Veterans were awarded lands within Tennessee. The government offered these lands as both compensation and reward for military service. Veteran or their heirs could apply for Bounty Land, which then could be exchanged for vacant public lands. The size of the granted land varied in size depending rank and length of service. This is volume #3 of a 4-volume set, The set covers 13,826 Revolutionary Land Warrants that were issued from 1783 to 1841.
