Tender Betrayal by Rosanne Bittner (Thorndike Large Print)

Description from the book back cover: Beautiful Audra Brennan felt like a stranger in a foreign land when she came north from Louisana to study music. But soon she'd met handsome lawyer Lee Jeffreys whose caresses burned away the differences between them. Suddenly, cannon fire shattered the country. Lee answered the call to fight against the Confederacy while Audra hurried home to a plantation shadowed by the darkening clouds of war. Yet through the hellish days and nights, Lee never forgot the spirited beauty who'd captured his heart. And as Audra endured the heartache and loss that transformed a pampered belle into a woman of courage, she dreamed of peace and love. But could she ever surrender her rebel's heart to the only man who had ever possessed her soul?

Tender Betrayal

Loved this book. Rosanne Bittner can really weave a story, and she makes learning history so enjoyable. I view the Civil War from a different perspective now. I recommended this book to my sister; and she thoroughly enjoyed it, also. We both agree that Mrs. Bittner should write a sequel to this one.

A Keeper

Get your kleenex ready when you read this one. The story starts off before the Civil War and carries through the war. The love between Audra and Lee is so beautiful and unconditional even though they came from different parts of the country. This was the first Bittner book I have read, and I can't wait till each of her new books are for sale. I have read all of Bittner's books at least once several twice and I'm not about ready to give any of them up
