Enlightening

This books provides a clear and concise record of what our forefathers intended when writing the first amendment. Especially revealing are the other proposals written by the house and senate for this admendment. It becomes obvious that our government was never intended to operate in the absence of christian religion, but to avoid the mandating(enforcing) of any paticular christian belief system on the common man, providing freedom of religion. Great book, I would recommend to anybody. Includes over 100 pages of reference material to verify the historical accuracy.

EXCELLENT BOOK

I can see why some of the review writers are trying to discourage people from buying this book. If you are someone trying to get rid of the Christian heritage this nation has then this is not a book you want people reading. Mansfield has done an excellent job of telling the truth about our founding fathers and what they truly wanted for our country. If you want to know the truth, buy this book. It is very informative.

Fantastic History

It's simply irrefutable that our nation was founded as a "Christian Nation" and Stephen Mansfield proves it so well that no sentient person could deny it. No one is saying that the government is run by any particular sect of Christianity, of course (and should not be), but to deny that our system is based on Christian principles, created by a majority Christian citizenry, and has been infused with Christian ideology is a denial of reality. Worse, it is indicative of someone that will lie to buttress a cause to remake this country in a form it never was and was never supposed to be. I recommend Stephen Mansfield's "Ten Tortured Words" so highly. Anyone that wants to know the true nature of our America must read this book. It so boldly reveals the hate of the anti-religious left and shows us the communist roots endemic in their origins that no one can deny that they have no interest in America but want to destroy it and remake it in their own image. Groups like the ACLU don't love anything about America and Mansfield shines the bright light of truth on their lies and machinations. Want ammo to attack the illegitimacy of the ACLU and other anti-American groups? Want to prove to folks ignorant of the truth that we are, indeed, a Christian nation? READ THIS BOOK.

Excellent

I recommend this book for everyone who wants to understand the original intent of the Establishment Clause.

After watching Mansfield on Cspan

The book looks like a great antidote to the stomach aches "religion" creates in folks on both sides of the political spectrum
