Description from back of book: There was more at stake here than money. Temple Parish knew it the minute Constance Cadwallender set foot in Montana. If he were saddled with 'little Connie,' how could he concentrate on winning the scientific prize that would make his reputation? Particularly since Connie wasn't little anymore...and was determined to beat him at his own game! Temple Parish was a modern-day pirate who'd stoop to anything to get what he wanted--even her, Constance feared. But now that she'd challenged him to unearth a great discovery, how come all she could think about was burying herself in his arms? * I enjoyed this book. A search for dinosaur bones in a romance book kind of turned me off at first but it was pretty good. I really enjoyed Connie's pet bird. It was constantly saying the funniest things. My only real complaint for this book is that some things were not thought out too well. At one point Connie hooked a hook from her fishing pole in Temple's hat & it took her several minutes to unhook it because she had to reach up on his head to remove it. Why not remove the hat & you could get it better? Another was when she was fishing Temple happened to get in front of her & got the line tangled up around him but yet Connie continues to pull her pole in to get her fish before she worries about untangling him. If the line is wrapped around him how could she continue to reel in the line? These weren't huge deals to me but there were a few more & I just couldn't help but wonder how the author wasn't thinking these things through better. Overall though it was an enjoyable read & I'd recommend it.

Battle of the sexes

When Temple Parish arrives in Montana to look for dinasaur bones, he is surprised when his competitors daughter shows up in his place. Although he hadn't seen "Little Connie" in over ten years, he'd always thought of her as a little girl. Not anymore. Connie has grown up into a beautiful young woman and she is determined to win the prize for finding the dinasaur. Temple laughs at her when she challenges him to find the dinasuar bones. No woman would ever do better than a man, or so he thinks... Off the two go to find the dinasuar bones, but they find more than bones. As the two search stubbornly for the bones, they also find feelings for eachother they thought not there or buried. And why did Temple leave her father's household ten long years ago? Although he was charged with a crime he didn't commit, Temple didn't stand up for himself. Why?Temple's Prize is a wonderful romance and I highly recommend it.
The Challenge Of The Century

Temple was surprised when "Little Connie" showed up for the competition instead of her father. However, "Little Connie" was not little any more. She had grown into a very beautiful woman. Worse, she was head strong and determined to win. So much so, that she challenged Temple to find the prize of the century. She meant to discover a new type of dinosaur. A certain Miss Constance Honoria Cadwallender meant to put Temple Parish in his place. The whole town had bets on which of the two would find the new type of dinosaur and win the endowment promised by Mr. Montague. Since her father had been unable to make the trip, she had talked him into letting her take his place...sort of. She knew everything there was to know about expeditions. She also had her own theory on how to locate the place to dig. Female or not, she could dig better than Temple Parish and aimed to prove it! ***Delightful story! I cheered Connie through the entire story and laughed myself silly at her bird's vocabulary! This one was a treasure to read and I highly recommend it.***
