This book is an extremely useful guide for reporters who don't want to spend a year or more of their lives giving depositions, eating stale donuts and hanging around courtrooms in their good suits. It was written by an in-house counsel for a major newspaper chain. His style is breezy but articulates the "in and out's" of basic libel principles, and a host of other First Amendment issues.
