Tell Me How You Talk and I Will Tell You Who You Are

In 2001, while I was in full recovery from the physical, moral, and economic ailments that affected me as a result of the traces left by perhaps the hardest and most demanding teacher I had had until then. Master whose name by itself is frightening, Cancer, I was encouraged to record an audio in which I proposed, without mentioning my illness and my process, to share the principles that I believe were decisive for me to achieve my healing with divine grace.
That audio was recorded in the studio of my friend Jairo Calderon to whom I will always profess my admiration, my gratitude and appreciation. That recording came from the soul, it was completely improvised, it had no scripts or scripts. It was something totally spontaneous, the only "special effects" were some applauses taken from a live conference and the music that Jairo added as background. The name with which the audio was baptized was LENGUAGE AND DESTINY and the subtitle TELL ME HOW YOU SPEAK AND I WILL TELL YOU WHO YOU ARE.
Due to my lack of knowledge of new technologies such as web pages, blocks, social networks, etc., it was something that I began to share with friends and people who attended my conferences; I had no covers or registered advertising images and much less showy and fancy, every time I ran out of the few stocks that I sent to record, they came out with different covers, without photographs or any kind of recognition as the author. The audio was recorded with the simplest words of the language, with the most everyday examples I could think of. In the simplest way, as is my personal style of speaking and acting, I shared the great teachings of my teacher Cancer, it has never been my purpose to make an apology of my suffering through the disease or other circumstances I was going through, I am absolutely convinced that my story is so simple that nobody is interested in it.
The important thing for me at that moment was to prove that what I had learned in theories, in some conferences and in many books, was applicable and did produce effective results and that in my particular case it had worked, and I was alive, an almost heroic fact that had not been achieved by other people I had met during my process.
My surprises came later in a growth that I could never have imagined. I received calls from the United States, Venezuela, Ecuador and other countries asking me for more information and copies of the audios. The calls from different cities of Colombia requesting the audio with original version, a detail that I admire in many people, unfortunately not in the majority, because most of them simply duplicated the audio, a situation that never bothered me and on the contrary I am grateful because through these illegal copies they have known my message and my name in places where I would never have dreamed of reaching.
With so much duplication, the material has been changing names according to the interpretation given by the people who listened to it. Many friends and relatives started to call me to tell me that my audios were being sold by "pirates" on the sidewalks and traffic lights. I was even more surprised when they began to tell me that the audio had been put on the Internet and especially on YouTube by people I do not know. Let's say that my big surprise was when a great friend called me to congratulate me and to ask me how much I was earning in royalties because my audio already exceeded one and a half million views on Google. The truth is that, as a discredited Colombian politician used to say, it all happened behind my back.
