When Dusted, the magazine that had been his main success as a writer, folds, Neil decides to travel, testing both his friend's patience and his beliefs. This description may be from another edition of this product.
Sure, some might say, at times Gallagher goes too far or overflows with a plethora of narcissistic comments about his teeth. All in all however, this is a classic. Witty and smart writing that makes you think (and makes your friends think you belong in a correctional facility) and that is perhaps what Gallagher intended to achieve. To me, the book climaxed with the hilarious "youre my tooth" comment, directed at Sleek, one of Gallagher's slick characters. All in all, a top notch effort, which reminds me of books by banned russian authors Victor Pelevin or Eduard Limonov - classic's in their country. Buy this now. Even if you wont like it, it might teach you something..
Life is for the daring, darling

(...) This book is exquisite. Very real. I'd give my first born to be able to write like Hugh Gallagher. Gritty details lovingly rendered. And that second to last chapter, good god, I can't remember the last a book had me laughing so loud and so long. I could say something utterly cliche, "This book is so punk rock!" but no one seems to remember what punk is anymore. It would be interpreted as "punk rawk", and, well, I don't want to misrepresent this glorious book with something as cheap and tawdry as "rawk." This masterpiece is for those who remember punk. Or for those who blacked out once too often and would like to remember. Or for those who have bad 'teeth' and haven't figured out how to fix them.Glorious, glorious, and again, glorious. May we hopefully hear more from Gallagher in the future.
Best book I've read in years that I can really identify with

This book was really great. I reccomend it for anyone who has ever been down on their life. Neil was a character i could really identify with, and the novel inspired me to go and do something with my life and not just watch the lives of my friends go by.... and on a lighter note, it also gave me the courage to go to the dentist to get a root canal!
Teeth is you gotta read it. Telling you.

man, I read Teeth one day and I was like, so rocked. Gallagher kicks mad prose flavor, from the ridiculous to the sublime and back again. I love Neil. i want to hang out with him and I share his views on pop culture. Man, the day after I read Teeth, I got rid of all my old Dead Kennedy's shirts and then bought some plants. I can't explain it. This book grabbed me by the lapels and just wouldn't let go. Got to read this one, people. And tell your friends. And Man, what the hell is happening in this fair country? .
You'll never miss a cleaning again!

What can I say? I work at a bookstore and my boss handed me the review copy of Teeth as I was walking out the door to go get my wisdom teeth pulled. I was happily stunned by the wit and insight of this book. I read constantly, but this is the first book by someone in my peer group that speaks my language without assuming I'm a slacker-loser. I had the great privilege of meeting Hugh Gallagher last week and am no less impressed by the author than by his work. Thanks Hugh! Can't wait for the next one.
