Teenagers on the web

The aim of this research was to analyze the imaginary formations that adolescents aged between 12 and 15 make of contemporary women on the social network Tumblr, specifically that of two contradictory imaginary discursive constructions: Cinderella and Luluzinha. It is based on the premise that it is through reading and writing practices that female representations are made and these are formed from the images that teenagers construct on their Tumblrs in order to say they are independent, self-sufficient or to place themselves as sensitive and looking for someone to make them happy. It is well known that there are various representations of women in society, but for this work we have chosen to focus on just two: Cinderella and Luluzinha. The former highlights the romanticism of fairy tales in which the perfect match and stable, socially instituted union are emphasized. The second, on the other hand, reveals the stance of the search and struggle for female independence and equal rights, while still being stubborn, clever, ironic, fun and sweet. The theoretical framework is that of the French discursive perspective based on the precepts of Michel P cheux.
