The scene is a small bar in one of the many back streets of the city. This neighborhood bar was one with a history in the
neighborhood. It came into being in the eighteen hundreds by the Poindexter Family and had been handed down to the
oldest son ever since.
Currently it is owned and operated by Tom, the oldest son in the family owning the bar at this current time. He had worked at the bar from the first day he was able to legally enter and work there. He started as a dish washer in the kitchen at eighteen and then moved to the bar when he turned twenty-one.
He had been working the bar now for twenty years and had developed a strong clientele who frequented the bar over the course of a week. When working this type of job, you learn to be a conversationalist. The ability to relate with people results in more sales and that was good for the bottom line.
A career bar keep becomes more than a good talker, he is also a good listener and with that he came make the best of the mental health provider. Much of those in a mental health career look like beginners when it comes to reading and analyzing those sitting at his bar and talking their talk. He knew the personalities as they entered his bar and it would come that one, named Steve, would enter one night. Just before he was to close and engage Tom in a conversation that would change his life and future. A future with a dark ending.
