The number and frequency of disasters is increasing dramatically under the changing climate. There are many research articles published relating to identification, improved understanding, and new approaches to assess disasters risk and management, but there are very few books written on disaster mitigation and adapation strategies. Our world is facing many kinds of disasters today and each disaster has its own risk and management plan. This is where this volume holds utmost importance and promises to advance the science of disaster management, further helping the scientific community and the human mankind at large.

Advanced Techniques for Disaster Risk Management and Mitigation focuses on investigation and identification of disaster for an efficient risk management. After the advent of satellite data with much improved spatial, spectral, radiometric and temporal resolutions, it has become easier to predict certain disasters and their impacts on humans and nature.
