1574 The city of Leyden is in despair. Its surrounding wall is now known to trap rather than protect the inhabitants as the siege on their land becomes unbearable. Lyra and Nadeje are facing two sides of conflict; the siege, and a world where the unusual thoughts are something to be punished for. Despite this, the two find themselves locked in a bond where they may never find a key. Both have fallen for the other, and both know the consequences of this could afflict Leyden forever.
