When his mother took him to the San Francisco Symphony, nine-year-old Joey fell in love with the music and thereafter dreamed of nothing else but sitting on that concert stage himself. The boy endured his father's wrath and, with the silent support of his loving mother, finally wound up a trombonist performing in a symphony orchestra. Over the years, he also backed up such musical greats as Frank Sinatra, the Beach Boys in Sacramento and Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison. While his focus on music put him among the best trombonists anywhere, his personal life was a disaster. He settled for a woman who was willing to financially support him through seemingly endless music lessons and college degrees. By choosing one he did not love, he had to subdue his passion for the beauty he adored since their first encounter in high school. Her face appeared in his mind with every note he played, thus making himself miserable along with the two women who loved him. Even though he had achieved his professional dream, his personal life was a wreck as he was unable to escape this triangle love affair. Would he ever be able to set things right?
