The book is divided into 4 sections. Section I, 'Introductory Lessons', contains 6 units. Each unit includes detailed lesson plans for a systematic development of one of the 6 problem-solving strategies. At each stage in the development, materials for practice are provided. One the next page is a suggested time schedule for these introductory activities. Section II, 'Activities', contains 19 student activities, each of which involves one or more of the strategies. Each one is keyed to a strand in the junior high math curriculum. These activities can be utilized to (1) develop new concepts, (2) reinforce concepts already introduced (3) maintain skills previously taught. Section III, 'Practice Problems,' contains additional problems keyed to the six strategies. The strategies involved are indicated by which wizards appear on the page. These problems can be used during the year to reinforce each strategy after the units in Section I have been completed. Section IV, 'Students Pages,' contains all the student worksheets, without answers, to be used as black-line masters for reproduction."
