A must-have for any teacher.

This book is often listed as "an external reference" or "alternate textbook" for teacher education programs, specifically a course entitled "Multicultural Education". Every teacher I have loaned this book to has been moved in a positive way by the authors writing style and his perspective -- which he helps you understand in a progressive way through the chapters of the book. Several of them bought their own copies half-way through the text. I believe it is a timely work -- for yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
