Teaching for Meaning in High Poverty Classrooms

This book was able to put into words, with the backing of research, my philosophy of teaching inner city children. I found the book exceptional insightful about giving children the meaning for what they are learning and eliminating all of the basic skills "drill and kill" that is found in so many classrooms. We, as educators, must remember to motivate and make personal the learning experience for these children. This book is a must read for many teachers and administrators in these schools that are failing our children.
