This is really quite utilitarian. Anne and Karen have done a marvelous job. I've read most of the contemporary books on character, starting long ago with the books of Dale Carnegie. All are geared toward the "how to", but rest on soft philosophical foundations. Basically, you have to believe the authors' subjective opinions and psychological speculations. That's why I was excited when I learned about a book that explains the philosophical foundation to character teaching at the premier school for that purpose in the world, West Point. The book, written in easy to understand language for every age group in any walk of life, is called "WEST POINT", by Norman Thomas Remick. "TEACHING CHARACTER: TEACHER"S IDEA GUIDEBOOK" is a good idea and a 5 star effort that will look even better when you have the whole story.
