Tea with an old Dragon Reviewer: Eavan age 8 The book by Jane Yolen was exciting and an interesting book. I liked the mystery of the beginning where Ms. Sophy comes up the road and boys say the dragon is coming because I think people would wonder if Ms. Sophy was the dragon. It was a good idea, it made me wonder what would happen next. I also liked the illustrations because they were descriptive. I also liked the details and colorful drawings. It was not very good because it did not say the main characters name. The main character just said I in a sentence. I thought the book taught a lesson about don't judge people before you know them because the boys in the story did not know Ms. Sophy and called her a dragon. Ms. Sophy was the dragon but she was nice. I knew Ms. Sophy was the dragon. Everyone ran into his or her houses because they were scared of the dragon. The girl, the main character wanted to see the dragon so she did not run into her house like everyone else.I recommend this book to 2nd graders and up because the text might be a little bit hard for below 2nd grade.

A Great Gift for Smithies

I received Tea with the Dragon Lady as a gift after Iwasaccepted to Smith College. The illustrations are beautiful and thestory is endearing. I enjoyed the contrasting characters, Sophia Smith and a young girl. I know I will read this book to my future children!
