Fundamental but necessary.

It does not take long to realize there are no standalone machines in this world. I grew up in the SNA world, so I needed to convert fast. This is the book that did it for me. However, you may find it a tad primitive by today’s standards, but it is still a good starter book. You will not get other protocols and concepts mixed with basic TCP/IP and NFS. You will see network hierarchy charts and some still practical commands.
