Taylor's Encyclopedia of Gardening: Horticulture and Landscape Design
A complete garden library in one volume. How and when to plant everything from a window box to a year-round garden. 1329 pages - 15,000 entries, 96 flower portraits and 61 photographs in color, more... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I've had a copy of Taylor's Encyclopedia of Gardening for many years, and it is one that I can always go back to and find some terrific advice. Norman Taylor knew a lot about gardening, and his writing is fresh, original, and authoritative. My husband (the author Thomas Leo Ogren) and I are both garden lovers, and we have a huge personal library of gardening books. Many of these books were given to us as presents, and more than a few of them just gather dust. But Taylor's Encyclopedia covers so much ground, so much sage advice on all aspects of gardening from growing vegetables, roses, fruit trees, vines, ground-covers, trees, you name it...it is always handy. Looking over the books here, I see some used copies going for very little money. Take it from a fellow gardener, a lover of useful, high quality garden books....get yourself a copy of Taylor's Encyclopedia and I am almost certain you'll soon find that it will quickly become one of your favorites.
The best book in my library - I turn to it almost daily

I was given a copy of Taylor's Encyclopedia of Gardening by my mother in law about 12 years ago. She bought it for me at a library book sale. A professional garden designer by trade and a complete plant nerd by avocation, it continues to be a treasured possession and the most valuble resource of all my reference books, (I have many). When I am stuck for I.D. , or general information regarding a heretofore unknown plant, Taylor's always comes through. Suffice to say I love this book. The only draw back; mine is a third edition 1956 - it's old and falling apart...I need to order a "backup" copy.
