English summary: The baptismal Eucharist represents both the ultimate goal and the high point of the initiation process in almost all known ancient ecclesiastical liturgies. In this study, written from the perspectives of exegesis and literary history, Hans-Ulrich Weidemann analyzes the origins of the connection between baptism and the ritual feast against the background of diverse feasting practice in early Christianity. To this end, he assesses the most significant sources from the 2nd and 3rd century: the Didache, Justin, the apocryphal Acts of Peter, Paul and Thomas, the Pseudo-Clementine Writings, Tertullian, and the so-called Apostolic Tradition. Subsequently he analyzes those passages from the New Testament that inform us about post baptismal banquets or those in which baptism and the Eucharist are placed in relation to one another: namely, the Acts of the Apostles, the First Epistle to the Corinthians and the Galatians and the Epistle to the Hebrews. Im Anschluss daran analysiert er jene neutestamentlichen Textpassagen, in denen von postbaptismalen Mahlern erzahlt wird oder in denen Taufe und Eucharistie inhaltlich zueinander in Beziehung gesetzt werden: die Apostelgeschichte des Lukas, den ersten Korinther- und den Galaterbrief des Apostels Paulus sowie den Hebraerbrief.
