***MUST READ FOR TAROT***

This is an excellent book for learning the tarot. Not only does it give you very straight forward meanings for the cards, it also gives you insight into the background behind the meanings and the pictures themselves. Also has a wonderful list of possible combinations of cards that have special meanings if found together in a spread. Very helpful. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in learning the tarot, or who already knows it. Its chocked full of information and it's the book I fall back on, over and over again.

Buy and read this first!

I cringe when I think of all the money I wasted on beginner's tarot books, when this slim little $10 volume is all you REALLY need to begin. It's illustrated with the Hanson Roberts deck, so it will serve you well with any Rider/Waite-style deck. The card interpretations are concise and easy to inderstand. It also contains useful advice for performing readings and giving advice, plus lists of correspondences that I've not seen anywhere else. Once you have studied the fundamentals with this book, by all means pick up any of the hundreds of other tarot books for more advanced, in-depth training (I like Juliet Sharman-Burke's "Mastering the Tarot" and Lon DuQuette's "Tarot of Ceremonial Magick").

Complete and Easy - Ideal for the Beginner

This book covers all the cards in a typical 78-card deck in clear, simple, unambiguous language, the meanings assigned to each card. Two spreads are covered: the Celtic Cross Spread and Double Celtic Cross Spread. If you are a beginner, you will also find other helpful directions and advice as to how to start. For example, how to shuffle, deal, phrase the question(s), draw your own associations about the cards, test the validity of your readings before attempting to read for others, etc.The language is plain simple and easy to follow. The illustrations are in black-and-white, of the cards in the Hanson-Roberts deck --- artistic and yet not "overloaded" with symbolism. This is one of the best books suited to the beginner. I am glad to be owning a copy of this book...

tarot unveiled: the method to it's magic

This book not only gives you the tools to explore a wonderful new opportunity of understanding. It is so easy and user friendly, that anyone can feel comfortable with the matierial and the methods with their first try. The author gives wonderful directions to not only the basics but also information you can use to expand that basic knowledge once you feel comfortable with using your tarot cards. She shows you different combinations of cards that could represent a specific meaning which could very easily be overlooked otherwise. She present the material in a way that it is easy to follow and more importantally easy to recall. Nothing is worse than having to pick up your book to read every card. The author goes one step further than other tarot books and actually commits to meanings that aren't broad based and non specific. She words her advise and comments about the cards as though she is a pier exchanging ideas, not as a mentor lecturing and forcing her ideas. I found this book through my best friend and it got to a point that I would have her book so often that I had to get one of my own. I have read many tarot books and many different authors. Laura Clarson is by far one of the most comfortable and best methods I have come across. Not only is she wonderful at what she does but she doesn't try to put down other's methods to make hers look better. Even though doing that is not in the true nature of things, many do, and I commend her for that.

Tarot Unveiled

I have an extensive tarot library, and this is simply one of the best books for beginning readers that I have ever seen. It is very uncomplicated in it's approach to a topic that is often buried in rhetoric and philosophy. It is set up very well for reference and it is illustrated with a beautiful tarot deck.
