Tanya and Tanglefoot

Tanya loves to run but her fears always have a way of catching up to her until the fateful day she and her brother Ralph decide to go to the beach. There, Tanya finds a safari suit and her adventure begins in what could be an ET's vision of Africa. With the lame cheetah Tanglefoot by her side and a jinni for her guide, she meets such strange creatures as Svartalfar or Black Elves; Roc, a legendary bird big enough to lift an elephant; Lamia, who is part woman but mostly sea monster; a helpful spider named Chandra, and a deceitful cat called a Sphynx. Throw in a few nasty desert demons; a fairy from the Kristal Mountains, and Isis, an Egyptian nature goddess, and the girl has to muster up the courage to make her way back to her Mississippi home.
