Tantra is a sacred doorway to the secret teachings, experienced by mystics who embrace Divine Union. The revelations in this book are from a woman yogini who has lived as a tantrika for most of her... This description may be from another edition of this product.
There is now a lot of info on Tantra becoming available... there are whole websites, magazines, videos, workshops, and huge numbers of eastern based and western based books. This book, however, possesses something that is unique to only a few of the sources of info on Tantra. While it may not go into specific technique, practices, or even traditional theory... it touches a fundamental, real, and earthy side of tantra that is often obscured, because it comes from real life... from someone that in fact embodies Tantra in its many forms. What's more... it comes from the Feminine... or as the author has put it "Through the feminine".. cutting through a lot of the mental intellectualization common in the MALE world of Tantra... which is currently where the bulk of the Tantra info out there eminates from. With its source being deeply in the feminine, this book comes accross as being very real, fresh, and sincere... yet it is by no means just for women! I think many of the males out there that have started exploring (or are already deeply into) Tantra will also benefit from the feminine perspective this book is based from and helping to further create in the world. UPDATE: 22/Jan/05 -- I feel it's important I add that I had 7 years of personal experience and relationship with the author of this book (and her husband). I helped edit it before it was published (I was living at their property at the time). So I know the topic well, and the author relatively well -- at least from my perspective and experience. I also know many people that have engaged in a student/teacher relationship with the author -- many as a result of reading this book. So, my update is that I wish to add that whilst this book (which I continue to recommend to those that are interested in field it addresses) is great, I do not encourage people to actively pursue interaction with the author on the basis that "this book has touched/moved me, and I want to directly learn from the person that wrote it". A person's words and the way a person actually conducts themselves in the world can differ greatly. Of course, if you feel a really strong urge to meet the author then go for it. The experience you have and go through will be entirely of your making and hence perfect in one way or another.
