Tangents: An Exploration of Thoughts and Ideas

This is a collection of essays on subjects and matters of interest to the author. They were written over the course of almost two decades and cover a wide range of interests. Included are footnotes that are tangent to the flow of the essay and comprise a set of separate directions of thought. From these "tangent" footnotes is derived the title of the collection. The goal is to introduce these many ideas, explore them from the author's perspective, and urge the reader to draw her or his conclusions from the various arguments, leading hopefully to better ideas and a wider range of dialog.
