Volume 2 Textbook on Advanced Hyung

The official guide to advanced Moo Duk Kwan forms, demonstrated here by H.C. Hwang, the son of founder Hwang Kee. This was the first book to introduce the three Yuk Ro Hyung designed by Hwang Kee, as well as his Magnum Opus, the form Hwa Sun. According to H.C. Hwang, the Moo Yea Do Bo Tong Ji was GM Hwang's inspiration for creating these forms. These are included in this book along with the more traditional Hyung (forms) which were adopted from Japanese Karate (which came from Okinawa, which was influenced by China, etc...). ALL of the forms are demonstrated by H.C. Hwang. I prefer this to books where a number of people do the different forms, it actually makes it esier to follow along for the simple reason that there is no variation in technique due to training, or natural factors like size and build (and yes, after years of practice you notice that). Included in this book are the following 15 advanced hyung not covered in the first textbook, "Tang Soo Do: Moo Duk Kwan": Naihanji 1-3 Jin Do Lo Hai Sip Soo Kong San Kun Sei Shan Wang Shu Ji-on O-Sip Sa Bo Yuk Ro 1-3 Hwa Sun Basic execution, clearly shown, without any applications. I hope in the future H.C. Hwang offers an expanded version showing applications. Having witnessed practitioners from the USSBDMDK effectively applying some of the movements in the Yuk Ro Hyung which looked absolutely impractical to me, I must say I was impressed and had to re-evaluate some of my own assumptions. Hyung up to Cho-Dan (first degree) including Ki-Cho Hyung 1-3, Pyung Ahn 1-5, and Bassai are shown in the first textbook and not included here. Likewise all 3 Chil Sung Hyung are included in the Red Belt Textbook, but not the other two. The best place to obtain these volumes is the United States Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation (USSBDMDKF). Because of their specific and unambiguous nature, they are well worth the money and effort that might go into obtaining them.
