Book Overview

We Glimpsed A Utopian Future

In 2076, the world is without roads and without limits. Brian Medlock's invention of anti-gravity, powered by his unified Theory of Persistence, has ushered in an unprecedented era of peace and prosperity.

Then Came The Fall

On the morning of October 19th, the impossible happens: the aerial control grid malfunctions and vehicles begin plummeting from the sky. Caught at the heart of the disaster is Jack Woods - a mild-mannered bureaucrat, single father, and reluctant hero. Jack, along with encryption genius Olivia Martorana and elderly-ball-of-queer-chaos Medlock, must navigate politicians and priests, from DC to Milan, to piece together the clues. The clock is ticking. If Jack doesn't solve the puzzle by 8:00 p.m., his son will die.

For fans of Andy Weir, Michael Crichton and Dan Brown, a high-stakes sci-fi techno-thriller where physics, faith, and family survival collide.

Taming the Perilous Skies

I found that Taming the Perilous Skies is a pretty good debut for author, Phil Marhshall. His writing style is a bit different from what I am used to and did take me a few chapters in before I could get used to it. Once I caught on, I was intrigued with this futuristic story. It had a good mixture of mystery, suspense, action, and adventure. It was interesting to see how the author's imagination was able to bring about such a thrilling tale that made me feel as though I was on a ride of twists and turns. It was a joy meeting the characters were believable and taking this journey with them was entertaining. About quarter of the way through, I was hooked and did not want to put it down until I was completely finished. With the recent horrific events in the news, diving into this book was a great way to take time away from it all. I am going to give Taming the Perilous Skies four and a half stars. I believe fans and readers of science fiction, as well as, political thrillers will not want to miss out on it. I would be interested in getting my hands on any upcoming releases from Phil Marshall in the future. I received a paperback copy of Phil Marshall's Taming the Perilous Skies from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.
