The Chosen One

"I don't know who I am anymore" Talon sighed heavily. "A year ago I knew who I was, a young mercenary with a knack for battle tactics. I trained hard, fought where I was told and planned the deaths of hundreds of young men just like me. That's who I was. Now I'm what you, an old man, and now a dragon queen, say I am. I don't know if I like what you've made me." (pg 154)When I first read this book (I've read it three times now) I found that I could not put it down. The story is amazing. A young boy named Talon once a warrior, now a wizard, forever the Krrig Daa. He goes through many ups and downs, physically and mentally, and through the incredible writings of Diana Metz you go with him. Her portrayal of Dragons as not only intelligent but incredibly social beast full of magic is one of the reasons I couldn't put this book down. Thank you Diana for such a great book.

Talon stole my heart

Imagine a world full of dragons living with humans. Seems impossible right? Diana Metz brings together realism and fantasty with flawless grace. This book may seem to be only about magic, but at it's core are lessons of tolerance and sacrifice, lessons to be learned by people of all ages. Talon is not a book for children to read alone, there is a lot to be understood, and is best read with a parent to help guide the question the book will present. Talon is an adventurous story full of love, and wisdom. It is easy to relate to the unique characters and care for them, cheer for them and be proud of them, even weep for them in their failures and triumphs. Diana has the makings and skill to compete with the adoration of Tolkein. A cherised read.

A GREAT book Anna Fahlsing

Talon and the Dragons of Crinnelia is one of the best books I have ever read. It is about a boy named Talon who ends up as the only person who can bring peace between dragons and humans. I highly recomed this book to any one who enjoys the Harry Potter series and those who like books with adventure and magic. My mother knows Diana from work, so I found out that there will be a second book in the seiries! I can't wait for it to come out. I just love her writing. :-)

A different kind of book!

Talon and the Dragons of Crinellia is a really great book. I really like dragons and wizards and that sort of thing, so this book was right up my alley. I kept reading because I was excited to know what was going to happen next. I think Talon and the Dragons of Crinnellia is different from other books of this type because it tells the story from both the dragons'and the wizards' points of view - back and forth. I have never read another book with a style like this, and I really liked it.The characters in this book were easy to visualize. The personalities of the characters make the things they said and did seem believable.I recommend this book to anyone over the age of 7.
