A Must Read

I truly enjoyed this book. The skills I learned from this books has truly helped me to communicate more effectively on my job. The idea of communicating on mulitple levels at a time seems challenging but after following the instructions in the book I was able to do a presentation at work that truly impressed my supervisor. I used to struggle in speaking when I saw other in the audience less interested but I learned to focus on the needs of the group and gain attend from others.

Caught by Surprise

This book was surpringly good. I had never considered Jesus in this way before, nor was I ready for how much there is to learn from how He communicated. Don't skip over the profiles. They are gems, and show without fanfare how to weave 'story' into your communication. As I read this book slowly over several weeks, I began to practice each principle as it was taught. But during those weeks, one question kept nagging at me: how did this book come to be? The patient reader will eventually be awarded that answer as well.

Well Done

Talk Like Jesus was logical and surprisingly biblical! The concepts that Lynn lay out are practical and I loved how she incorporated lessons from Christ throughout. She obviously understands the professional mindset and her book is well written, proving she understands her own methods.

Great Book- for EVERYONE!

I felt inspired to write a review for Lynn Scarborough's "Talk Like Jesus" because I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised! I was received this book as a gift and was, at first, nervous that it would be too "preachy." But even as someone who considers herself to be more spiritual than religious, I truly found inspiration in Lynn's words. After reading her book, I am positive that my communication skills will will show improvement on every level and in every activity I pursue. The format of the book is very accessible- it's easy to pick up and read a section or two every day (although I read it all in one sitting!) The quotes throughout are highly enjoyable and add to the overall reading experience- I love how varied they are. One second Ms. Scarborough is using Jesus' very words to instruct how to incorporate parables into your everyday and the next she's using David Letterman's "Top 10" list as an example of how to use fresh images and new vocabulary to make your words a reflection of YOU. On the whole- great, helpful, thoroughly enjoyable book.

Be a Great Communicator

If you want to improve your communication -- whether it is for business, your personal life, or radio/television appearances -- this is a must read. Written by an expert in the field (who has coached many of the current television personalities), this book gives you the tools you need for success. Plus, the analogy to Jesus as the Master Communicator is a lot of fun -- why not adopt the style of the most widely read "hero" of a book?!?
