In this companion to last year's Waiting for Baby, most of all, what Max wants to know is--when will his baby sister talk? Full color. This description may be from another edition of this product.
We checked this book out of the library after looking through MANY books for toddlers awaiting a new sibling. This book stands above the rest because it doesn't use the themes of "babies are so noisy/needy/demanding", "since baby came my life is so bad and everyone ignores me" (with the compulsory "happy ending" wrap up, of course) or "I'm a 'good' big brother/sister" (whatever that is supposed to mean). Rather it makes the big brother a part of the conversation, literally. My 2 year old son (with a baby brother due any minute) LOVES this book and the main character Max is a big brother that my son can relate to, and I am happy that he does. He demonstrates how an inquisitive older sibling can relate to a new baby without the type of parental input and assumptions that complicate things. If you only decide to look at or buy one "sibling" themed book, I highly recommend this one.
Great for new siblings

My 20 month old and I borrowed this book from the library probably b/c she liked the cover. We got this book home and we were not disappointed. Max wants to try and teach his new baby sister how to talk. Month by month we see each different thing and song/chant he tries. I know some of this is above my daughter's level but she loves it all the same. It is one of the books I'll be buying soon. This book is perfect for a child who has a new sibling on the way.

As a parent of a 29 month old and 9 month old, I have really enjoyed this sweet book. My son loves to recite the rhyming verses and loves the main character, Max. Fun book!
