Fantastic take on fairies and forbidden romance

The setting is rich and immersive with a large cast of loveable and well-developed characters. The exposition is handled well, and the protagonist and plot are both complex and compelling. I love all the relationships between the characters, and I love that they're all very grounded and healthy rather than a source of petty drama in the story. I especially appreciate the representation of ethical non-monogamy and other non-traditional relationships. The exploration of some darker themes (domestic violence and abuse) is handled gracefully. I'd recommend this one to anyone who enjoys fantasy or romantasy and strong femme protagonists. I'm definitely planning to continue the series.
